DRE Biomed Team Participates in Kentucky Association of Medical Instrumentation Meeting

Matt Cameron is a proud member of KAMI

Biomedical engineers, metrologists, clinical engineers and other medical personnel from across the state of Kentucky gathered in Louisville Thursday, Feb. 13, for the quarterly meeting of the Kentucky Association of Medical Instrumentation.

DRE is a proud corporate member of KAMI, whose membership includes biomeds from Norton Healthcare, Kentucky One Health and many other care facilities around the state. Biomedical students from local technical schools were also in attendance.

For Matt Cameron, director of Field Services at DRE, KAMI meetings are a good opportunity to network with fellow biomedical professionals while talking about issues in the industry.

“KAMI gives biomeds a chance to discuss how to maintain best practices in a changing industry,” Cameron said.

On Thursday, biomedical professionals discussed how to best integrate the services of information technology and traditional biomed work. The two traditionally separate departments are becoming more closely tied in today’s medical field, and the dialogue was about how both groups could constructively work together.

In addition to the evening’s roundtable discussion, KAMI members also re-elected board members and dined on a catered meal sponsored by DRE.
